Cancer Antigen 15-3
CA 15-3 is a blood test that measures a protein associated with certain breast cancer cells. It is most commonly used to monitor treatment response and detect possible recurrence in individuals previously diagnosed with breast cancer.
CA 15-3 testing helps assess:
• Monitoring response to breast cancer treatment
• Detecting possible recurrence
• Tracking disease progression over time
• Supporting ongoing cancer surveillance
Reference Range (General Guidance)
Typically <30 U/mL (may vary slightly by laboratory).
What Your Results May Mean
• Within Range: Generally consistent with no significant elevation.
• Elevated: May be associated with active or recurrent breast cancer, but can also be elevated in some benign conditions. Results should always be interpreted in clinical context.
This test is not intended as a stand-alone screening test for breast cancer in individuals without a prior diagnosis.
