Cancer Antigen 125
CA 125 is a blood test that measures a protein often associated with ovarian cancer. It is most commonly used to monitor treatment response and disease progression in individuals with a known diagnosis, or to evaluate certain gynecologic symptoms.
CA 125 testing helps assess:
• Monitoring ovarian cancer treatment
• Detecting possible recurrence
• Evaluation of pelvic or abdominal symptoms
• Tracking changes in levels over time
Reference Range (General Guidance)
Typically <35 U/mL (may vary slightly by laboratory).
What Your Results May Mean
• Within Range: Generally consistent with no significant elevation.
• Elevated: May be associated with ovarian cancer, but can also be elevated in benign conditions such as endometriosis, fibroids, menstruation, pregnancy, or inflammation. Results should always be interpreted in clinical context.
